A gasket is included. The trolling rod holder is closed at the bottom to keep water out of the kayak. Mounted usually with pop-rivets.
It can be placed on most sit-on-top kayaks and on some sit-in. It is enough to have for installation a large and relatively flat area behind the seat.
Or as we often say, almost any kayak can be converted to a fishing one if you feel attracted to that!
