The Volan 160 is a great kayak for day trips and weekend outings. It has the optimal length for this type of kayak of nearly 490 cm, which gives it a good balance between speed and maneuverability.
Specifications
You can trust Volan to cover a long distance because the kayak has a great tracking and good speed. If you come across a place to play on the way, such as lot of rocks, for example, put away the skeg and have fun. Volan is on the border with the so-called “play boat” and allows quick maneuvers with lean, even without a lean.
Design
The stern is low, which allows for easy roll, and does not offer much wind area. The volume of the bow and the rocker keep you dry when paddling through the waves.
The geometry of the deck in front of the cockpit is specially designed for great strength and rescue in deep water.
Volan has an additional factory-fitted Kevlar keel safety tape. Especially when playing in shallow waters or pulling the kayak on rocky terrain, the tape will protect the keel gelcoat from damadges.
Who is the kayak for?
With a width of 58 cm, the Volan is very stable for beginners. Advanced ones would also appreciate this extra stability in rough seas, but even more would appreciate the ease of handling the kayak with all course change techniques.
